The Gleek’s Recap: Episode 9 (Spoilers!)

by Sarah - The Gleek on November 12, 2009

gleeksmPuck starts fighting for Quinn’s affection, knowing that her baby is really his. I am more and more intrigued by Puck, as he flirts with Quinn and tries to raise money for her doctor bills. Quinn still seems to be sticking with Finn, though. Who would you choose if you were Quinn?

Kurt and Rachel compete for the solo in Defying Gravity. When I had first heard last week that Kurt would be singing defying gravity, I was upset that the show would botch my favorite song EVER. I will admit though that I was pleasantly surprised by his performance, and of course loved Rachel’s as well!! I wonder if the recording of the song on iTunes will include Kurt’s messed up note at the end…

We learned more about Artie, and heard his first vocal solo (Dancing With Myself). What did you think of his solo? It looks like a romance may be blossoming between Artie and Tina. Do you think the show will try to make a romance grow, or did Tina’s confession about not having a stutter completely ruin any possibility?

After two weeks of no Glee, it is nice to have it back. I hope you are continuing to enjoy the show and the musical numbers!

I would choose Puck. While Finn is adorable he's slightly stupid. I hope the recording doesn't record the mess up he looked so sad when he was messing it up!

I can't imagine dragging out the lie of the baby not really being Finn's for a lifetime.. she has to choose Puck! or neither!

I LOVED artie's version of dancing with myself. It was incredible, and I adore the original song.

I wanted to make sure to mention for those that didn't understand that Kurt messed the note up on purpose, in order to protect his dad, who is unused to being at the ugly end of prejudice, unlike his son. Kurt didn't want his dad to have to deal with the bullying that was sure to follow him singing a female's part.

also, my friends and I were all bawling at the scene with Sue and her older sister. I am so pleased with how they're developing her character lately, especially since I adore Jane Lynch. I love Sue Sylvester. She is a beautiful, multi-dimentional character unlike any that's been on the small screen in a long time.

and lastly, all the girls in this episode pissed me off. Rachel was being a diva-y snob, as always, and I wanted to punch Quinn every time she was a bitch to Finn, which was every time she opened her damn mouth in his presence. she annoys the crap out of me, and Rachel is really starting to as well. I really hope they start developing her character again (next week's episode looks promising) because at the moment I'm getting a little tired of psycho diva all about herself thing.

Ya I got that he messed up the note on purpose. It must have still been terribly embarassing, since his peers didn't know he did it on purpose.

I'm actually starting to kinda like Quinn, now that she's not trying to ruin the Glee club. I really liked the time she spent with Puck in the home ec room. I hope they get together. I guess it didn't bother me that Quinn was being mean to Finn, because I don't really want her to be with Finn, and Finn was acting dumb and helpless. Perhaps he needed a kick in the butt from Quinn.

I dunno, I guess I really just hate liars and cheaters, so it pisses me off that she's putting all this responsibility on Finn and bitching at him when he has absolutely no part in her current position at all. it just doesn't seem fair to me that he's having to be shouted at and degraded because SHE was irresponsible. if it was actually his baby, I'd say she was justified.

You're right, I definitely see your point.

PUCK. Definitely. I mean, ugh. I don't dislike Quinn like I dislike Terri but I would want Puck over Finn any day and Puck is INTERESTED so why is she being so dumb??
