I was absolutely blown away by episode five of Glee, “The Rhodes Not Taken.” Having Kristin Chenoweth guest starring was incredibly enjoyable because she is so talented and funny. The fact that she performed three songs in the episode was so fulfilling. Chenoweth plays April Rhodes, a woman who had quit high school and is now a drunk (and squats in foreclosed homes!!). Will gets her to join Glee, so that they can have a strong female singer. Her character added a lot of fun to the show; I was glad to get away from some of the seriousness of the previous episodes.
The secret NEEDS to come out that Puck is actually the father of Quinn’s baby, as opposed to Finn. This whole lie, and how it involves Rachel, is making me very uncomfortable. Do you think Finn will ever discover the truth?
It is wonderful that Rachel is back in the group. She finally realized that “being a star doesn’t feel as special as being a friend.” The highlight of the show was at the end when she stepped in as the female lead for the performance of Queen’s “Somebody To Love.” I had chills through that entire song, it was so amazing.
I loved every minute of this episode, because it really focused on the music. I can definitely see myself watching it again when it goes online!

It's already online! haha illegally of course!
Dude, that was fast. (Where? haha)
Can I just say that I was really glad to take a breather from Will's wife tonight? It looks like she'll be back in full force next week, however. Should be dramatic (and creepy)! I wonder if it will all focus on Will's relationship with the guidance counselor or if his wife will approach Quinn again, too?
I think they'll probably wait awhile to reveal Quinn's baby daddy… stretch out the drama… but you never know!
Musically, I really liked the duet between Lea Michele and Kristin Chenoweth – so well done and bravo to the show for snagging her as a guest star! As well, I love Carrie Underwood, so that performance of Last Name was fun, too.
Like Allie, I was also glad to have less of Will's psycho wife tonight. Personally, I look forward to all of these lies coming out in the open. Crazy wife's non-pregnancy, Quinn carrying Puck's baby, ect. I'd assume that they are going to carry this storyline out for the rest of the season, but we're only at episode 5 and so much has happened already. Glee isn't doing things in a standard fashion, so maybe they'll keep that up and reveal it all within the next couple weeks, haha. You never know, with this show.
As for Rachel, man, I feel for that girl. And what is with Finn doing the tool-iest thing ever by trying to flirt her back into glee club. That's SO low. But I still like him, I can't help it. You can't help but know that the only reason he lied to Rachel was because he was trying to do the right thing for "his" baby. He totally won back my loyalty when she called him out and said "Thinking you actually had feelings for me." And he goes "but… I do."
Like every week, I'm already excited for next Wednesday.
Ah, I agree with everyone that I am so glad we had a break from Terri. Honestly, I could just do without that whole storyline. Erase it and I'll be fine. However, I kind of like the Quinn/Finn/Puck storyline. I just wish it didn't portray Finn as quite the idiot (pregnant in a hot tub, really?). Besides, I'm starting to like Puck. He's going to be the one to confess sleeping with Quinn — he has to be, esp. because he already took the first step by telling everyone she's pregnant.
Kristin Chenowith was brilliant, as always. Just seeing her singing on my TV made me miss Pushing Daisies like whoa. I heard she'll be back for a few more episodes, and I can't wait for it!
Totally agree that Quinn needs to tell everyone the truth – that shes kind of a ho. LOVED Kristin Chenowith. Ah, she was so good. Lastly, Somebody to love is one of my all time favorite songs. Couldnt get enough of their version either :)
